About
Search for Common Ground has operated in Nigeria since 2004, promoting peacebuilding in conflict zones and encouraging understanding across ethnic, religious and gender divides.
With centers in Abuja, Jos, Maiduguri and Port Harcourt, the organization seeks to address conflict by providing consensus-based advocacy education, conflict resolution training, human rights evaluation and control and the facilitation of conversation processes that involve all sectors of society.
The organization seeks to alter the daily interactions of conflicting groups of people so that they can work together to strengthen their community, preferring cooperative problem-solving over conflict. Its objective is to shift the world's approach to conflict away from adversarial tactics and toward cooperative solutions. The organization has expanded and diversified and now spans four continents and more than 30 nations.
