About

CCC - Canadian Commercial Corporation is a Crown corporation of the Government of Canada and acts as Canada's international contracting and procurement agency. As a parent Crown corporation under Schedule III Part I of the Financial Administration Act, CCC reports to Parliament through the Minister of International Trade. The Corporation was established in 1946, in light of post WWII reconstruction efforts, "to assist in the development of trade between Canada and other nations and to assist persons in Canada to obtain goods or commodities from outside Canada, and to dispose of goods and commodities that are available for export from Canada." In 1956, CCC was given additional responsibility of the shared Canada-U.S. industrial defence production agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. DoD), as well as a similar agreement for the supply of goods and services to NASA. Moreover, since 1978 the Corporation operates within the International Trade portfolio of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), along with Export Development Canada (EDC).
