CTU - Can Tho University

Established in 1966, Can Tho University (CTU) is widely recognized as a premier university in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Its goal is to strengthen its reputation within Vietnam and join the ranks of internationally renowned universities. Accordingly, it is committed to constantly improving its capacity in training, scientific research, technology transfer, and services. As one of Vietnam leading multidisciplinary universities located in the heart of the Mekong Delta, CTU enjoys a special niche among higher education institutions in Vietnam. Currently, the University has around 2.000 staff members and almost 57.000 students, and offers nearly 100 undergraduate, 36 Master and 15 Doctoral training programs in a wide range of majors.
CTU pays a great attention to the professional development of the University’s staff, aiming at the high quality and prestige. At present, the University is implementing a credit-based training system in line with international standards. Within this context, the staff members are encouraged to take part in scientific research and publication of their work, apply active teaching methodologies, and train the students to become skilled human resources and independent critical thinkers. To achieve the University’s goals and promote its "brand-name" , CTU is striving to continuously expand its international cooperation in terms of training international students.
