The Institute for Market Environmental Society (imug) was founded in 1992 as an "affiliated institute" at Leibniz Universität Hannover on the initiative of Mrs. Hansen and Mr. Schoenheit. The research interest of the imug Institute focuses on the question of how societal and ecological interests can be given more consideration in market processes. Improved transparency and qualified dialogues are seen as key solution strategies. The connection with the Market Chair of Prof. Hansen focused on empirical and interpretive research on consumer behavior. The consequences for marketing and consumer policy are reflected by imug.
