About
Terre Solidali Onlus was founded in Italy in June 2002 as a non-governmental, non-profit organisation (NGO) registration No. 1733 dated 05.08.2002, Moncalieri (Turin) and immediately started its activities. Terre Solidali is recognised as NGO in accordance with the Italian law 662/96 (Italian Ministry of Finance, 29/3/1999) and is a registered Association by “Agenzia delle Entrate”, Piedmont Region since 15/04/2003. Since 2002, Terre Solidali Annual Financial Statement is audited by the external authorised auditing company FIDALTA S.p.A. (Member of Urbach Hacker Young – UHJ, International; Address: Via Teodorico 21, 20149 Milan, Italy). From 2008 the annual audit is carried out by the external auditor Michele Matteo Romano, Via Rossini 25/16, Ornago (Milano), Auditors’ Register No. 117777.
Terre Solidali was created by a group of professionals with consolidated working experience in the humanitarian aid and development sectors with the common objective of reinforcing the civil society and the institutions of the newly emerging countries, through the joint implementation of projects in different sectors. Because of the built-in experience and the relationship with partners in these countries, Terre Solidali could immediately start implementing projects in Italy and in Africa (Kenya, Somalia, Morocco, Mauritania, and Niger), with the support of public institutions, universities and private citizens. Part of the activities is carried out by the Terre Solidali’s members on a voluntary basis.
Terre Solidali is also registered in Kenya, Somaliland and Puntland as International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) focusing on governance and financial ICT management systems applied to public institutions and civil society, assuring basic services delivery (mainly water research and distribution, slaughter services, markets, waste collection and disposal and electricity.
