The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative aims to restore Lebanon's native forests and to install commitment to reforestation and wildfire prevention and response, through capacity building of local communities and organizations.
LRI aspires to promote long-term sustainable reforestation across Lebanon through improving the connectivity of forests, giving wildlife a safer habitat, and empowering communities to work together to take positive action as stewards and protectors of their forests and environment
