About

Mehad (Ex-UOSSM France) is a French health and international solidarity NGO. It is committed and alerts to the urgency of building, with local actors, sustainable health systems, guarantors of sustainable development for the benefit of populations. Mehad carries out vital missions with populations, relying on a network of more than 1,000 health professionals, mobilized from France and all over the world.

Mehad (ex-UOSSM France) was born in 2011 from the desire of a group of doctors to respond to the urgent need to provide health care to populations affected by the war in Syria and in neighboring countries.

First under the banner of AAVS (Association for Aid to Victims in Syria) and then that of UOSSM France (Union of Relief and Medical Care Organizations), our NGO now carries out vital missions for million people thanks to the commitment in the field of 1000 Syrian and international health professionals, To better meet the needs of populations in a sustainable way and include health issues in a broader vision of development, our NGO becomes Mehad (“cradles” in Arabic). A nod to Mesopotamia, the cradle of our civilisation, but also of our commitment.
