About

Created in 1986, the Center de Suivi Ecologique (CSE) first functioned as a project before becoming an association of public utility in 1993. The founding members of this entity are the State of Senegal, the technical partners and active in the environment, local authorities, universities, research institutes and centers, civil society, etc. Placed under the technical supervision of the Ministry in charge of the Environment, it is endowed with a moral personality allowing him to enjoy an administrative and financial autonomy.

The mission of the CSE is "to contribute to the knowledge and sustainable management of natural resources and the environment by producing and disseminating products and services for decision-making, particularly for the State, the local authorities local governments, the private sector, civil society, research and development institutions, producer organizations and development partners ". As such, CSE interventions cover various areas such as support for land-use planning and urban management, scientific and technical support for sustainable land management, support for decentralized management of resources natural resources, environmental and social assessments, monitoring of efforts to fight against poverty, support for the fight against climate change.
