About
The East-West Parliamentary Practice Project (EWPPP), headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is a nonprofit nonpartisan organization founded in 1990 as a joint initiative of the European Cultural Foundation (NL) and the Ford Foundation (US) with the aim of providing support for parliaments in the newly emerging democracies in Central/Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Since its founding, the EWPPP has worked with parliaments and local partner NGOs in over 25 countries throughout Eastern/Southeastern Europe, Eurasia, and North Africa to promote transparency and accountability in governance and civic participation in the democratic process. EWPPP current work includes initiatives in Armenia, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Tunisia.
