Legacy Marine

Legacy Marine (Pty) Ltd is an aluminium boat building company that was started in 2004 and is part of the larger OFT Group of companies. The headquarters and Production facility are based in Port Elizabeth South Africa with sales agents and distributors located in various countries across Sub Saharan Africa. 

The company specializes in the design and manufacture of Aluminium vessels in the 4m to 20m range. The vessels cater primarily for the commercial workboat market and very few are sold into leisure applications. The primary applications for our vessels are: Passenger transport, Cargo, General Workboat, Offshore Dive Support vessels (O&G), Spill Response (O&G), Marine Research.

Our vessels are built to the South African Maritime Safety Authority rules unless IACS approval is requested by the client in which case vessels are built under ABS /BV /DNV-GL survey.  Design class certification is usually done to BV/DNV-GL or ABS rules as these societies are well represented in South Africa.
