About
Canal France International is an audiovisual cooperation organization. Created in 1989, a subsidiary of the France Télévisions group, CFI is financed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
CFI provides free French programs every day to television in emerging countries in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, the Arab World, Asia and Oceania. Nearly six thousand hours are thus offered each year to around a hundred channels in more than 90 countries.
CFI also organizes cooperation missions - advice, studies, training, production support - in order to support the professionalization of partner televisions. Promoting the development of local productions, CFI thus contributes concretely to the promotion of cultural diversity.
