About
Trentino Network is the publicly owned company that manages the telecommunications and radiocommunication networks in the provincial territory and provides services to the public administrations of Trentino and to the operators of the telecommunications world.
Trentino Network was established in December 2004 with the aim of establishing a network of electronic communications serving the provincial administrations, local public administrations Studios, local research institutes and, in projection for future development, of businesses and citizens.
The role of Trentino Network was then revised, with resolution no 2609 of the Provincial Council in 2008 , in view of a more rational reorganization of the telecommunications sector and the resulting activities.
The Mission
Trentino Network's mission can be summarized in: designing, implementing and managing telecommunications and radiocommunication networks and through them providing services to local authorities, Trentino public administrations and TLC operators.
Initial projects
The first project covered the Broadband Infrastructure of the Province of Trento, where Trentino Network has built a fiber optic infrastructure of over 1.100 km covering the entire provincial territory. This project, which has been in place since 2006, has made it possible to think immediately of the evolution of IT services and the launch of new innovative projects aimed at centralizing applications and support services, thus gaining economies of scale.
In 2006 with the 2006 decision no. 458 of the Provincial Council, Trentino Network has implemented a second large project, called WiNet, aimed at achieving xDSL discoveries with wireless technology , thus enabling broadband connectivity for the peripheral locations of the public Administration and giving accredited operators the ability to bring innovative TLC services to businesses and private citizens.
