Subject Grid densification programme to enhance access to electricity in rural and peri-urban areas in Uganda (Phase II)
Project:

MEMD, the Project Executing Agency (PEA), in cooperation with related distribution companies intend to implement the griddensification programme where existing medium and lowvoltage distribution systems shall be extended and furtherhouseholds, small businesses and social institutions shall beconnected to the grid. Productive Use of Energy (PUE)subsidies shall be targeted on small and medium enterprises(SME).

Requested Services:

The consultant shall assist the PEA to review and rank the received applications. The Preliminary design of selected schemes shall be reviewed and bidding documents shall be established accordingly. The requested services of the Consultant include further procurement of contractors, design review, site supervision and commissioning (on permanent 2 base), project management, assistance to the PEA, reporting, elaboration of an ESMP, supervise the ESMP and ESHS adherence. The consultant shall manage a disposition fund for procurement of Productive Use of Energy (PUE) appliances and installations, elaborate procedures for application and handling of the subsidizing scheme.
