Capacity Building of Libyan Forensic Institutions

Objectives: The UNDP/UNSMIL Missing Persons Project aims to enhance the capacities of major forensic institutions in Libya, specifically the General Authority for the Search of Missing Persons (GASIMP) and the Judicial Expertise and Research Center (JERC), through tailored trainings and remote mentorship. The goal is to ensure the sustainability of forensic skills and techniques in these institutions, addressing the issue of missing persons in Libya, which is critical for national reconciliation. The project involves conducting training sessions in forensic medicine, anthropology, pathology, DNA analysis, and crime scene analysis, including online forensic medical consultation services.
