Objectives: The project 'Technology and Socio-Economic Development for Renewable Energies and Green Hydrogen in Algeria' ('TaqatHy') aims to strengthen Algeria's economic growth by enhancing the use of renewable energies and green hydrogen (RE&GH2) following Algerian policy principles. It combines four primary components: the development of large and medium-scale renewable energy power plants (focus on solar and wind) and their economic impacts, the growth of a GH2/Power-to-X sector for export and local applications, optimised integration of renewable capacities into the electricity grid, and the improvement of local value chains. The initiative also promotes gender equality and sustainable development.
