Objectives: The primary objective of the project “Fighting against the Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property in the Western Balkans,” funded by the European Commission and implemented by UNESCO, is to create stronger coordination among key actors at regional and international levels, focusing on cultural heritage protection. This includes fostering regional cooperation, reconciliation, and good neighbourly relations through heritage and culture, along with reinforcing the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural property through capacity-building and awareness-raising activities. The project also aims to improve legal and policy frameworks and enhance the security of cultural heritage sites.
