GRANT-9245 UZB: Precision Agriculture for Resilient Commercial Horticulture Sector Project - ISCAD-CS-10 National Environmental Safeguards Specialist (58181-001)

Objectives: The Precision Agriculture for Resilient Commercial Horticulture Sector Project aims to promote horticulture commercialization by catalyzing the formation of producer groups and strengthening vertical market linkages between these groups and downstream agribusinesses. The project, located in Bakhmal district in the Jizzakh region, directly benefits at least 170 small-scale (dehkan) farmers and creates new employment opportunities for 85 agricultural workers. It emphasizes collaboration among farmers to cultivate high-quality horticulture produce and provides digital and climate-smart equipment to improve water and energy efficiency and climate resilience in horticultural production, post-harvest handling, and processing.
