Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

The firm will undertake the financial risk assessments for the contributory protection schemes, i. e., four pension schemes of universal pension scheme (UPS) in Bangladesh with a focus on: (i) assessment of legislations, regulations and guidelines relating to the contributory protection schemes, including UPS and other pension related contributory schemes in Bangladesh, (ii) assessment on the financial model of four pension schemes of UPS to clarify if each of those four pension scheme is fully funded, partially funded, or no funded, (iii) the financial risk assessment of those UPS pension schemes, including actuarial analysis, (iv) analysis of the short- and long- term financial status on those UPS pension schemes, (v) evaluation of the financial soundness and risks of those four pension schemes respectively under UPS, and (vi) recommendations to improve the financial soundness of those four pension schemes and UPS as overall. The firm will also conduct consultations with the government stakeholders on those focal issues and recommendations.
