The Government of Jamaica has received a grant from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) towards the cost of the Improving Climate Data and Information Management Project. It intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an S Band Doppler-capable Dual Polarization Weather Radar System for the Meteorological Service Jamaica.
The Planning Institute of Jamaica now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an S Band Doppler-capable Dual Polarization Weather Radar System for the Meteorological Service Jamaica for the detection of heavy precipitation and other hydro-meteorological phenomena.
Bidding will be conducted through the two-stage, International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works, and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits &Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011, and the Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedures. Bidding is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the World Bank’s Procurement Guidelines.

All bids must be accompanied by a "Bid Security" of Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred United States dollars (USD $22,500) or its equivalent in a freely converted currency.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by 10 am local time on May 11, 2018. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected and returned to the bidder unopened. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday May 11, 2018.
