1. The Government of Nepal has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade Improvement Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Improvement/Construction of following works:

2. The Department of Roads, Development Cooperation Implementation Division, Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade Improvement Project intends to prequalify contractors for the above contracts. Above road sections are being a lifeline route of capital city Kathmandu, the traffic management during construction/improvement is more crucial. It is expected that the Request for Bids will be made in January 2021.
3. Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers July 2016 Revised August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
4. Interested eligible Applicant may apply for single or multiple contracts. To qualify for multiple Contracts (i.e. Lot1 and Lot 2), Applicants must meet the Aggregated (Combined) Qualification Criteria as specified in section III of Prequalification Document.
5. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the Department of Roads, Development Cooperation Implementation Division, Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade Improvement Project at the address below during office hours. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee as mentioned in above table. The method of payment will be cash deposit or telegraphic transfer in the Project's revenue account as specified below, with the original of the bank deposit voucher/telegraphic transfer receipt being submitted together with hard copy of its Application. The document will be handed over to the applicant after producing evidence of payment of the fee. On request of the Applicant, the prequalification document may also be sent by e-mail upon payment of the fee as described above. However, the Employer will not be responsible for non-delivery of the documents so sent.

6. Alternatively, the applicant may inspect and or submit the application by visiting electronic procurement portal http://www.bolpatra.gov.np of Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) of Government of Nepal. Applicants who choose to submit their application through electronically shall deposit the fee of prequalification document in the revenue account given above and the scanned copy of the bank deposit voucher shall be uploaded at the time of e-Application submission. For e-submission, the applicant is required to register in the e-GP portal https://www.bolpatra.gov.np for downloading and submitting the application electronically. The applicant shall refer to the Project's uploaded Prequalification Document instead of PPMO's generated PQ document, if any.
7. Applications for prequalification should be submitted in clearly marked envelopes and delivered to the address below by 12:00 hours on December 9, 2020. Late applications shall be rejected.
