Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) is a public utility founded by the Liberian government in 1973 with the mission of producing and supplying affordable and dependable electric power to the entire country while maintaining the corporation's financial sustainability.
LEC is responsible for ensuring that efficient, dependable, and cheap electric power is available, not only to satisfy Liberia's increased need for power but also to serve as a stimulus for economic development.
The mission of LEC is to increase reliable access to affordable electricity throughout the country in the quickest, most prudent, and sustainable way possible. The corporation has developed projects in the electricity and electrical engineering sector that focus on the extension of electricity transmission and distribution systems and support for the strengthening of LEC’s commercial capacity.
