Description

The mission of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) is to embody active solidarity among the 77 states and governments that make it up (57 members and 20 observers). A community of destiny aware of the links and potential that come from sharing a language, French, and universal values. 

It provides its member states with support in developing or consolidating their policies and carries out international policy and multilateral cooperation activities, in accordance with the four major missions outlined by the Francophonie Summit:

  • Promote the French language and cultural and linguistic diversity
  • Promote peace, democracy and human rights
  • Support education, training, higher education and research
  • Developing cooperation for sustainable development
