IOM Global
With 175 Member States, 8 States that enjoy observer status and offices in more than 100 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. In this task, it offers services and advice to governments and migrants.
IOM's job is to ensure the orderly and humane management of migration; promote international cooperation on migration issues; help find practical solutions to migration problems; and offer humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, whether they are refugees, displaced or uprooted people.
The IOM Constitution explicitly recognizes the link between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as respect for the right to freedom of movement of individuals.
IOM works closely with its governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.
