The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) brings together delegations from 54 nations from Africa, the Caribbean and Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. CHOGM aims to reinforce multilateral cooperation, explore new opportunities, and tackle common challenges for the well-being of future generations.
Commonwealth leaders will travel to Rwanda to reaffirm their common values and agree on actions and policies to improve the lives of all their citizens. Decisions taken at CHOGM also guide the work program of the Commonwealth Secretariat.
The official opening of CHOGM takes place on Friday 24 June and is followed by the main high-level meetings of Heads from 24 to 25 June. They are proceeded by four Forums, ministerial meetings, side events, and other activities.
CHOGM was due to take place in June 2020 but was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
