Detailed description of project 

The Government of Ethiopia and the European Union have agreed to finance PROHEDEV (Promoting Heritage for Ethiopia’s Development) that aims at promoting the country’s cultural and socio-economic development whilst at the same time protecting and safeguarding its heritage for the future wellbeing of the nation.

The overall objective of the program is to increase the long-term contribution of Ethiopia’s heritage and culture to the socio- economic development of the country. The purpose of the program is to preserve and develop targeted heritage sites and sectors and improve their management.

The objective of mission is to provide technical support to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the following areas:

• Support MoCT with the implementation of the on-going Program Estimate No. 1, Grants to the Regions (Tigray, Harari, Oromia, Amhara, SNNPR, Afar) and Grant for Yared School;
• Assist MoCT in the finalisation of services tender dossier to recruit the long term TA;
• Provide training on different activities (culture sector) included in program Estimate No. 1;
• Assist in the preparation and finalisation of Programme Estimate No. 2.

Type of services provided

The mission is undertaken by a team of two experts:

• Team leader (132 m/d);
• Museum professional expert (10 m/d).

PROMAN provides the services of the Team leader.

PROMAN oversees overall implementation and quality control.
