Detailed project description: This project is implemented by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Program (WFP), and the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to develop programs to enhance resilience, one of which is the Joint Efforts for Food Security and Nutrition in Yemen Pro-Resilience Action II (ProAct II); The project aims to improve food and nutrition security through strengthening the resilience of food systems and enhancing livelihoods of the targeted communities in four districts in Yemen, namely Khanfar district, Abyan governorate; Tuban district, Lahj governorate; and Raydah and Dhulaimat Habur districts, Amran governorate. The project will be implemented by the financial support of the European Commission (EU).
Detailed description of the assignment (Services/Supplies/Works):
The overall objective of this contracting activity was to provide an accurate and comprehensive description of the institutional and community governance structures and capacities, social structures, conflict drivers, gender dynamics, seasonal livelihoods, specific community needs, health and nutrition-related behaviours and practices, and economic weaknesses and opportunities in the targeted areas.
Moore Yemen thoroughly grasped the remarkable impact of FAO support to improve food security and nutrition by strengthening the resilience of food systems and livelihoods. Moore Yemen understood that PROACT will achieve its objective through Institutional & Community Capacity Needs Assessment for targeted communities.
