About

Synelia, formerly known as GROUPE  SMILE, has transformed itself to better serve its African clients with a strong local anchor, symbolizing our desire to chart a new path for the technology industry in Africa.

Smile Côte d'Ivoire (Smile CI) was initially a franchised subsidiary of a leading European group, European leader in Open Source, known as Smile. Established in Ivory Coast since 2012, Smile CI has quickly established itself as a key player in the information and communication technologies sector in West Africa.

Benefiting from the group's solid experience and know-how, Smile CI has prospered by providing innovative and quality services to its customers. It has built a strong reputation by offering cutting-edge technology solutions and focusing on operational excellence.

Driven by its initial success, Smile CI made a bold decision: international expansion. It chose to expand into other African countries, recognizing the potential for growth and opportunities on the continent. It has established offices in several countries, including Liberia and Burkina Faso, expanding its geographic footprint and influence. It thus became Smile Group Africa in 2018.

Over time, these African offices began to gain autonomy and maturity. They developed local skills, understood the specific needs of African markets and strengthened their links with the local ecosystem. This is when Smile Group Africa made a strategic decision in 2018: to break away from the European franchise and become an independent African company.
