To be the state institution responsible for formulating, designing, controlling, monitoring and evaluating national health policies, standards, plans and programs: exercising the leadership of the sector; guide the resources of the national health system; as well as promoting driving and regulating the construction of healthy environments and the improvement of the living conditions of the population, the development and strengthening of a culture of life and health, the generation of health intelligence, attention to needs and demands of health, the guarantee of the safety and quality of goods and services of sanitary interest and the intetvention on risks and collective damages to health.
