Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (CEMG) is a bank savings bank that comes under the trade name of Banco Montepio.
Founded in 1844 as an annex to Montepio Geral - Associação Mutualista, Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (“CEMG”) is a credit institution that, under Decree-Law No. 190/2015, takes the form of bank savings. The result of the same law was the obligation to transform CEMG into a public limited company.
