The object of AESA
The Statute of the State Agency for Aviation Safety develops the purpose of AESA, and it sets out the five main axes on the basis of which the Agency's objectives are developed.

Preserve the safety of air transport in accordance with the principles and regulations in force in the field of civil aviation.
Promote the development and establishment of national and international aeronautical standards in matters of air safety and protection of the user of air transport, as well as the procedures for their application.
Promote a culture of safety in all areas of civil aviation.
Protect and defend the interests of society, and in particular users, ensuring the development of safe, effective, efficient, accessible, fluid, quality and environmentally friendly air transport.
Develop their skills in response to the needs of civil aviation, in terms of quality, effectiveness and efficiency and competitiveness.
Mission, vision and values

AESA's Mission: To ensure the safety of users and the quality of national and international air transport in all areas of civil aviation through certification, supervision and a preventive approach to Spanish professionals and organizations.

AESA's Vision: To generate institutional trust in society both in the national and international aviation sector, through continuous improvement, optimization of our tasks, support to the sector and international influence.

The Mission, Vision and Purpose of the Agency have guided the strategic objectives, which govern the actions of AESA and inform decision-making in the organization.

Security  Monitor and improve the security of civil aviation services for all users, in accordance with best practices
Service Quality  Improve the quality of air transport services and the protection of passenger rights
Industry Support  Facilitate and enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the Spanish airline sector
Excellence in Management  Develop excellence in management and improve economic and organizational efficiency
These objectives intersect with the Agency's Lines of Action in the period for each area. From this combination arise the concrete actions that the Agency will carry out in the coming years.

Strategic or action plans of AESA

The Governing Council of AESA approves the Strategic and Action Plans of the Agency in which the strategic objectives of the Agency are included, as well as the programs, to be carried out, during the period of the plan, in order to fulfill them.

In addition, both the action plan and the strategic objectives of AESA are aligned with the principles adopted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
