Civic Education: Cooperative Agreement

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is a federal government agency with its headquarters in the United States whose major responsibility is to administer civilian foreign aid to assist people overseas who encounter issues when attempting to improve their lives, recover from disaster or attempt to live in a free country. The agency operates in a number of countries throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. USAID has launched a Cooperative Agreement entitled “Civic Education/Armenia Civics for Engagement” the goal of which is to support youth civic education in order to increase the role of youth in the construction of democratic culture and in evolving an informed community. In particular, it will construct the civic competencies of youth in Armenia aged 10 - 29 to involve them in collective action to advance issues of public concern and impact public policy through raising the commitment of government organizations, civil society organizations, communities and families. The cooperative agreement is also expected to integrate the following cross-cutting topics: diversity, gender equality and accessibility for people with disabilities. The anticipated award date is November 30, 2021.
