Location: Germany
The Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED), Germany, is looking to recruit a team leader on a fixed-term contract to support a monitoring and evaluation team for “Support of the M&E System and impact assessment / evaluation”. Expected duration of the assignment is October 2022 until March 2024 (subject to change). This position is for a current proposal and is contingent on C4ED being awarded the contract by the client for this consultancy.
C4ED’s vision is to make development interventions more effective through impact evaluations and providing evidence-based policy advice. With a strong focus on mixed-methods and quantitative impact evaluations related to sustainable development, C4ED is one of the leading German research centers in the areas of poverty reduction, microfinance, health insurance, education, humanitarian assistance, agriculture, and nutrition. We are currently conducting projects in over 40 countries across the globe and maintain research relationships with 3ie, ACTED, GCF, GIZ, IFAD, ILO, IPA, J-PAL, the World Bank, WFP, and UNICEF to name just a few of our cooperation partners.
The successful candidates will be expected to have extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs with a focus on topics such as supply and value chains, sustainability, corporate due diligence, compliance, and women’s’ empowerment.
In addition to these requirements, the successful candidate needs to demonstrate the following:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, development studies, anthropology, or relevant studies;
• Demonstrate strong skills in both English and German language both written and spoken.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation programs;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of sustainable supply chains;
• Minimum 5 years of management leadership experience; and

• Minimum 1 year experience in development cooperation projects, preference given to experience with GIZ.

Ideally, candidates are detail-oriented, adept at multitasking and can work under pressure, and can lead a team of researchers to successfully submit project deliverables on time. They enjoy interacting with a wide range of individuals and are comfortable leading communication with clients and research partners in project countries, and they can maintain good collaborations with a variety of stakeholders. The position will likely include travel within Germany for in person workshops.
