Description

General description of the position: The project coordinator will act as a close collaborator and locum to the TL. He/she will be a fully fluent speaker of the Myanmar language.
He/she will be responsible for effectively liaising at a technical level with national stakeholders, particularly to facilitate the organisation of meetings and other events and activities as part of the project. The coordinator needs to be well versed in the current political context and challenges in Myanmar and be neutral within the highly polarized Myanmar context.

Normal place of posting of the specific assignment: The implementation of the present services for Category II expert (Coordinator), will be performed from home base (Yangon, Myanmar ).

Mission(s) outside the normal place of posting and duration(s): once context permits
frequent travel inside Myanmar should be foreseen. Duration: 12 field visits (60 days
in total) • Expert category: Cat. II (>6 years of experience)

Qualifications and skills required:
• Advanced university degree (Master degree) in a discipline relevant to the scope of this assignment, such as public administration, management, social sciences, economics, development economics, international relations, law or other relevant subjects. or, in its absence,
equivalent professional experience of 7 years
• Strong inter-personnel skills to support effective liaison and coordination with national counterparts and final beneficiaries;

• Ability to organise and facilitate debates and dialogues, community consultations, and public meetings, and provide training as appropriate;
• Proficiency in MS Office programmes;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other skills requirements:
· Experience in communication, facilitation, and networking activities;
· Experience in setting up and analysing surveys;
· Working in multi-cultural, multinational environments;
· Supporting capacity development teams;
· Experience in working with the EU would be an asset.

General professional experience:
• Minimum 6 years of relevant general professional working experience in international development.

Specific professional experience:
• At least five years of experience in Myanmar working with government, non-government actors or development partners are required.
• Language skills: Excellent working knowledge both in oral and written English and Burmese.
