Description

The project intends to construct various infrastructures to support agricultural productivity and improve health facilities for the communities. This Consultancy Service aims to undertake the supervision of construction of the facilities indicated below.

•    construction of 4 vocational schools (1 per municipality)

•    rehabilitation of 2 health centers and construction of 2 others

•    construction of warehouses and agro-processing centers

•    Construction of 4 EDA Offices and Houses (1 per municipality)

•    Rehabilitation of the Provincial Agriculture Secretariat Offices

•    Construction of 750 ha of irrigation systems

The purpose of this assignment is the supervision of the infrastructure works contracts that will be procured. The assignment shall cover the construction period and the defects liability period (12 months after completion of the works).

The requested Civil/Building Engineer (15 M/M) must have the following profile:

▪  At  least  a  Bachelor’s  Degree  in  Civil  Engineering,  Construction Management or equivalent relevant field

▪ Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in design and construction of buildings/houses or structures, of which no less than 3 years as Resident Engineer in a Contract for supervision of construction of public buildings and houses in sub-Saharan country (ies).

▪ He/she should have knowledge of AfDB and/or World Bank procurement procedures, experience in/familiarity with AfDB Conditions of Contract and related.

▪ He/she should have ability to communicate effectively in English and working knowledge of Portuguese.
