1. BACKGROUND TO THE ASSIGNMENT: The Simulation-Based Capacity strengthening project enhances the knowledge and coordination skills of staff of US Government agencies and other humanitarian actors for efficient cooperation in international humanitarian operations through the international humanitarian coordination system and with other relevant US agencies. |
The primary function of the SimEx Lead Facilitator is to lead facilitation, including supporting the implementation of wide-ranging program activities inclusive of working with the HRTU team facilitating humanitarian response simulation exercises, participation in the curriculum review and update process, and contributing content to project reports.
2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: |
The Simulation-Based Capacity strengthening project enhances the knowledge and coordination skills of staff of US Government agencies and other humanitarian actors for efficient cooperation in international humanitarian operations through the international humanitarian coordination system and with other relevant US agencies.
3. SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Specify the tasks related to the assignment in SMART bullet format. Detail issues such as documentation required and how provided, communication processes, reporting requirements.
Work with the training team, BHA, and onsite IMC staff as appropriate, to identify improvements to be made and ensure these are implemented in a timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated expertise in conducting simulation-based learning. Subject matter expertise in humanitarian coordination mechanisms including experience of working or engaging with humanitarian actors at senior/strategic levels (e.g. HQ, UN, government officials, donors, etc.) At least 10 years of experience in humanitarian response and complex humanitarian emergencies At least 10 years of experience in a senior leadership capacity in an international post. EXPERIENCE: Prior Senior Management role in complex emergency humanitarian response environments Strong communication and representational skills Expert knowledge of humanitarian response coordination architecture, mechanisms and standards COMPETENCY: Expert knowledge of learning methods and objectives for adult and professional audiences Cross-cultural communication skills, collaboration, Interpersonal influence, adaptive thinking, emotional intelligence. |
