Description

Deloitte is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Training Events Manager in support of the USAID State Owned Enterprises (SOE) Reform Activity in Ukraine (SOERA). The position is full-time.

Project Background and Summary:

The purpose of the Ukraine SOERA is to strengthen public sector business operations and transparency, improving governance and oversight, advancing privatization of selected SOEs, and developing a strategic management model for SOEs remaining in state ownership. Smart reform and targeted privatization of Ukraine’s SOEs will reduce opportunities for corruption, increase private sector participation, and stimulate broad-based economic growth. Objectives to be achieved by this activity will include:

  1. SOE Mapping, Information, and Strategy.
  2. Reform Coordinating Mechanism (RCM) and Strategic Communications.
  3. Reviewing and Improving SOE Policies, Legislation, and Regulations.
  4. Facilitating SOE Privatization.
  5. Improving Corporate Governance and Management of SOEs.
  6. Providing Emergency Response and Recovery Preparation Technical Assistance to the GOU and SOEs

Objective:

The Training Events Manager will support the Component Leads by planning, organizing, and reporting on training events, which will include but not limited to webinars, trainings, offline seminars, and discussion forums.

Duties and responsibilities:

·       Develop a program of at least 2-4 monthly training events in coordination with the Component Leads that allows SOERA to meet and exceed its USAID Project Indicator targets.

·       Propose topics, speakers, delivery mechanisms, and target audiences for events;

·       Develop program agendas;

·       Supervise the preparation of materials for event participants;

·     Organize locations, speakers, and vendors for the events. Work with the procurement team on vendor selection and contract negotiations;

·       Organize how the events will be recorded, broadcast, stored, made available to the public, and promoted;

·       Develop lists of participants and organize invitations to the events;

·       Monitor the branding of the events in accordance with USAID and SOERA requirements;

·       Track and report on attendance of the events;

·       Moderate events when appropriate;

·       Provide a summary write up on each event for SOERA for reporting to USAID;

·   Report on the events according to SOERA requirements, including updating the SOERA events tracker and contribution to the SOERA quarterly and annual reports;

·   Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist on collecting, analyzing, and reporting training data against the program performance indicators;

Requirements:

  • BA in English, economics, law, international relations or related field;
  • 3+ years of experience working in a similar capacity;
  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following: privatization; corporate governance; anticorruption; policy, legal and regulatory reform; SOE reform and performance improvement
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in English, Ukrainian and Russian, and experience preparing high quality written materials;
  • Excellent English writing skills, including grammar, syntax and punctuation;
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Power Point); and
  • Time-management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to resolve sensitive and complicated work issues with senior beneficiary representatives from the public sector, donor representatives and senior-level staff;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish productive relationships with senior government officials, the business community, civil society, and international donors, particularly on politically sensitive and highly visible issues
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects will be considered as advantage.
