Sheladia Associates is seeking a professional part-time International WASH Institutional Capacity Building Expert to join our team on an on-going USAID funded Lagos Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Activity (LUWASH) project in Nigeria.

The objective of this project is to support our Client, The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), in the expansion and improvement of urban WASH service delivery and infrastructure through strengthened governance, increased accountability, and improved financial and technical capabilities of public water utilities and private sector providers.

The specific duties for this role will include:

  1. Review the WASH sector capacity assessment report and other project documents.
  2. Assist team on the project deliveries
  3. Contribute to reporting requirements and other deliverable documents as per the project.
  4. Prepare and design training modules for subjects and topics related to WASH with attention to drinking water.
  5. Contribute towards visioning and development of strategy on capacity building for various projects and the organization.
  6. Understand the learning needs of the target audience and thereby use effective methods for training delivery design.
  7. Able to quickly compile knowledge from internal and external stakeholders into learning materials for capacity building.
  8. Develop e-learning modules using PowerPoint or other authoring tools/software. Able to train the target participants and local trainers as required.
  9. Any other task as directed by the CoP/management to meet the project requirements
  10. Prior experience on Donor funded projects such as USAID/UN/JICA is desirable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have Master’s degree in WASH and development, public or environmental health, or other related subjects
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the WASH sector including 3 years in the Urban Wash project
  • Must have experience developing training modules related to Water and Sanitation.
  • Sound knowledge about the water and sanitation sector
  • Experience in developing e-learning modules/courses is desirable
  • At least 5 years of international experience outside of his/her county.
  • Prior experience on donor funded projects such as USAID is desirable.
