Social Media Strategist

Background

Alinea International is looking for experts for the upcoming strategic communication project to support the Government of Ukraine (GoU). The purpose of the project is to enhance the GoU capacity to conduct data-driven communications through improved understanding of the needs, attitudes and perceptions of the Ukrainian citizens in order to inform communication strategies, campaigns and activities to counter malign influence and disinformation and strengthen critical thinking during the ongoing war. The project will also facilitate cross-agency coordination to ensure better quality of crisis communications and strengthen ongoing efforts of the GoU to withstand the Russian military aggression and promote early recovery efforts.

Scope of work:

The expert will ensure all activities are delivered in time and are appropriately documented. S/he is expected to work closely with the Creative Director in Ukraine and participate in relevant project meetings. The broad scope under this position includes the following components:

• Responsible for content ideas and optimisation for social channels.
• Experience in creating content (ideally low/no-budget), preferably for government/public communications. 
• Deep knowledge/experience of multiple social media platforms (especially Telegram), including paid-for, optimisation, etc. 
• Ability to think creatively/out of the box with use of social. 

Expert Profile:

The expert is expected to meet the following requirements related to her/his qualification, skills and professional experience:

• Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of social media campaigns for donor-funded projects and/or government institutions in Ukraine and other relevant geographies in Eastern Europe.
• Strong SEO and content optimisation skills tailored to specific social media platforms.
• Experience in content production, including development of campaign photo and video content, data visualisation, gamification of content, etc.

Experience in working with international development organisations and familiarity with campaign management and reporting in donor-funded projects.

• Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian, written and spoken.
