Position Description

EnCompass LLC is seeking an IT Coordinator to collaborate with other IT team members to provide IT-related support to staff and administrative support to the team.

To be successful in this role, the IT Coordinator must be knowledgeable about MS O365 software and applications, have a basic understanding of networks and databases, and have a talent for clearly explaining technical IT information to non-technical end-users.

Key functions include providing support to new hires, supervisors, and IT colleagues during the pre-start and onboarding processes and keeping trackers and databases up to date; therefore, excellent interpersonal skills and deep attention to detail are required.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of MS software as a user who is interested in deepening their technical IT skills and better understanding end-user needs.

This is a full-time position on location at EnCompass headquarters, in Silver Spring, Maryland. This position will be using the EnCompass hybrid work model with some days per week in the office. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions:

  • Provide first-line technical support to employees regarding hardware, software, and network -related issues
  • Serve as bridge between non-technical end-users and higher-level IT technical team in providing excellent technology support to staff
  • Serve as point of contact for staff questions about all Microsoft platforms, coordinating with other IT team members and/or vendors, as needed, to respond to more challenging or complex issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problem, identifying root causes and implementing the solutions promptly
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, printers, peripherals, and other devices, including but not limited to:
    • Creating new hire emails
    • Adding the new hire to the all staff and US staff groups, 1Password, etc
    • Configure laptops for new hires
    • Coordinate with supervisor to complete staff departure IT-related tasks, such as software/subscription transfers or subscription cancellations, content of out-of-office messages
  • Troubleshoot basic issues that arise during computer usage and provide solutions to common problems
  • Support the IT Assistant, as needed, in maintenance of the IT Compass site
  • With support from the rest of IT, the Senior KM&L Manager, and Talent Development, conduct the site owner trainings for new SharePoint site owners and orientation sessions with new employees
  • Educates end-users on how to use MS features, connect to networks, and utilize the different functionalities of the IT systems at the company
  • Support transitions to new systems, platforms, and applications
  • Maintain computer and video equipment in the conference rooms; provide technical support to users when problems arise
  • Provide surge support to rest of IT team for ticketing system
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
  • Assist in the training of users on new systems and software
  • Assist the IT team in planning, implementing, and overseeing IT projects, including hardware and software upgrades, network expansion, and system migrations
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the successful execution of IT Projects

Other:

  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 5 years of experience; Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience; Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of IT experience
  • Additionally, some experience in customer service

Experience and Skills

  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft software and applications to include SharePoint
  • Must be knowledgeable in MS O365 /Active directory / ticketing system / physical network / software licensing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the company
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users and vice versa
  • Understanding of IT networks and databases
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills
  • Highly organized with excellent coordination skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to details
  • Previous experience in help desk support will be an advantage
  • Ability to work in an appreciative environment with colleagues and clients

Estimated Pay Range for this Position

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $54,100 to $62,600
