Program Description:

The Jordan Technical Assistance Program (TAP), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is a five-year education and youth project that seeks to transform the organizational culture and improve the abilities within the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth to ensure officials can implement desired reforms. Creative and its partners will provide technical assistance in the development, roll-out, and tracking of policies and procedures to incorporate international best practices for public education and youth programming. Among the many activities in the Jordan Technical Assistance Program, it will support curriculum development, promote inclusive learning techniques, improve the skills of teachers and school managers, and other tangible activities that ultimately support changing the organizational culture within the two ministries and relevant agencies. The program will further support Jordan’s outreach and behavioral change communications initiatives that are aimed at creating a culture of reading, the inclusion of vulnerable children, and increased youth engagement.

Position Summary:

The Education Program Coordinator is a key player in the organization's efforts to improve education outcomes. They work closely with Ministry teams, internal departments, and external partners to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of education initiatives. Their responsibilities span various areas, including coordinating activities, maintaining documentation, fostering stakeholder relationships, and providing procurement and administrative support. Beyond these core duties, the Education Program Coordinator helps drive a positive environment to support the education team in implementing TAP objectives.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Education Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Education Programs.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating the education activities, including the overall planning and implementation with Ministry concerned directorates to develop their detailed action plans, following up on the smooth implementation of these plans.
  • * Ensure that the project activities are on track with the approved work plan. Ensure having an up-to-date comprehensive understanding of the program and technical areas, consistently monitor the implementation process, track the progress made, and suggest any necessary updates to the work plan.
  • * Coordinate with internal teams (Communications, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources) and external counter parts to plan and implement events and activities by following TAP’s policies and procedures, and addressing challenges as they arise.
  • * Support and establish productive and positive relationships with all MOE stakeholders including and not limited to consultants and partners.
  • * Create and maintain program documentation, records, reports, and presentations.
  • * Identify potential success stories and other communications-worthy achievements to convey to the Communications team.
  • * Provide organizational and administrative support to Education team; like -but not limited to- the preparation of any related events/meetings, setting up agendas, taking notes, drafting letters/ documentation, and prepare any needed requisitions, to facilitate any internal or external operations/processes.
  • * Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure data collection methods are accurate and reliable and assist in analyzing data to inform program decision-making.
  • * Act as a liaison between the Education team and other departments or external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • * Other tasks as assigned.
  • Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a field of study relevant to the scope of work (e.g., education, development, project management.
  • * Must have 5+ years general development work experience, and 3+ years of specific experience related to working with Education program coordination and implementation.
  • * Documented experience in field work and experience in working/coordinating with governmental partners are strongly preferred.
  • * Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • * Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • * Experience in planning and project management with a track record of successful events.
  • * Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team are required.
  • * Advanced knowledge in English and Arabic, both oral and written skills.
  • * Previous experience working on USAID-funded projects is preferred.
