Capacity Building Specialist, USAID/Jordan Knowledge, Monitoring, Evidence, Learning, and Research Activity (KMELRA), Jordan

Proposal Objective:

Social Impact is bidding on the upcoming USAID/Jordan KMELRA project, intended to be an umbrella mechanism providing USAID/Jordan with empirical data on program effectiveness, deepen accountability, foster learning, and knowledge management, and improve Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation (CLA) capacity within USAID/Jordan Mission and Jordan in general. The Activity will be designed to advance USAID localization agenda and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals.

Position Description:

Social Impact is seeking a full-time Jordanian Capacity Building Specialist to support capacity building and training activities to implementing partners and USAID/Jordan staff under this anticipated project.

This will be a full-time position based in Amman, Jordan for the duration of the contract, contingent upon contract award. The anticipated award date for the proposal is Fall 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the activities related to training and capacity building in MEL.
  • Support in the capacity development of USAID/Jordan staff and stakeholders to perform high-quality performance monitoring and verification, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Support in capacity development of local implementing partners and government officials to improve the effectiveness of performance management, projects and M&E plans using best practices.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, serve as a convener for dialogue and learning around emerging issues, and coordinate efforts among partners.
  • Assist and play a role in producing reports, such as quarterly and annual reports, training manuals and reports arising from its activities as required by USAID.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in research methods, statistics, public health, demography, social science research, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in M&E capacity building and training at the organization and individual level.
  • Experience serving in a similar position supporting USAID Missions or USAID implementing partners in M&E capacity development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with Jordanian counterparts and government officials.
  • Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches, and operations, particularly as they relate to M&E.
  • Professional proficiency in oral and written English, and fluency in Standard Arabic.
