Position Title: Institutional Strengthening and Business Development Expert/Advisor
Organization: Caritas MONA

About the Organization: The regional office of the Caritas confederation for the Middle East, North of Africa, and Horn of Africa region has the task of coordinating the work of the Caritas organizations present in the 15 countries of this region as well as contributing to their institutional development through Capacity Strengthening. On an international level, the office has the role of harmonizing the partnerships that are developed between those Caritas organizations on the one hand, and their international partners and the General Secretariat of the Caritas Confederation (Caritas Internationalis) on the other hand.

Job Summary: The Institutional Strengthening and Business Development Expert/Advisor will be a key member of the Caritas MONA team, responsible for enhancing the overall capacity of Caritas MONA and member organizations, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, and fostering strategic partnerships. The incumbent will also play a pivotal role in developing sustainable strategies for growth, ensuring effective program implementation, and building the organization's institutional capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Institutional Strengthening:
Conduct organizational assessments and develop strategies to strengthen internal systems and processes.
Provide guidance and support in capacity strengthening to staff and partners.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the regional secretariat and member organizations.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of programs and initiatives.
Analyze and report on key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.

3. Business Development:
Identify and pursue funding opportunities from diverse sources, including sister agencies, Networks, and donors. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of donor priorities and requirements.
Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, ensuring organizational goals and objectives are aligned.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential donors and partners.

4. Strategic Planning:
Work closely with senior management to develop and refine the organization's strategic plan.
Provide input on program development, ensuring alignment with funding opportunities and organizational objectives.
Conduct periodic strategic reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and growth.

5. Partnership Building:
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
Facilitate collaboration and joint initiatives to enhance the impact and reach of Caritas programs.
Mobilizes, animates, and coordinates Member organizations’ advocacy and campaigns to ensure strong collaboration, clear positions and strategies, and a significant impact at all levels.
Represent the organization in relevant forums and events.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Master’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Social Development, or equivalent qualifications in Business, International Management, Institutional Development, and related fields.
• At least seven years of proven experience in Institutional Strengthening, Business Development, and Fundraising within the non-profit sector.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating different capacity-strengthening initiatives;
• Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, on which Caritas’ work is firmly rooted.
• Proficient knowledge of the Humanitarian Sector and principles (Triple Nexus; IHL; IASC; SCHR; CHS; Sphere)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the Region’s 3 languages: Arabic, English & French.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software and other digital communication platforms.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with member organizations, donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Understanding of partnership dynamics and effective collaboration strategies.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Conditions of Employment:

• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Lebanon • Caritas M.O.N.A will not cover any accommodational fees • Candidates must speak 3 languages (Arabic, English, and French) • Expats must have their work permit (Caritas M.O.N.A. will not cover any fees concerning residency or work permit) • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check • Ability to Travel
