Harstad Municipality situated on Norway`s largest island of Hinnøya, Harstad is a strategic hub for the entire region and a centre of commerce for Sør-Troms and northern Nordland. It has been dubbed the City of Culture of the North, owing to its many cultural events, particularly the annual Festival of North Norway. During the festival, the streets are teeming with people and concerts are performed in pubs, churches and music halls.
