The Rock Shalom

The Rock Shalom (TRS) is a charitable organization that is registered with the Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection as a Community Based Organization and has been in operation since 2018.  

It was founded by Dr. Dan Omollo out of his pursuit for health and wellness among the youth in his community. TRS works to empower youth especially adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to create positive change in Uriri sub-County, a rural area of Migori County in the western part of Kenya. Migori County is one of the most rural counties with nearly 55% of the population living below poverty line. TRS is located in Kamgundho Location amid 21 villages which are home to approximately 13,000 people.

We are built on four pillars- Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, Livelihoods. We also conduct regular community-based research to inform the design and implementation of our community programs. We foster networks with local and county government agencies and like-minded partners and use innovative strategies to deliver change to the youth.
