About

The Institute of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification - Imaflora - is a non-profit civil association, founded in São Paulo, in 1995. It was born on the premise that the best way to conserve tropical forests is to provide them with an economic destination, associated with good management practices and responsible management of natural resources.

From this perspective, Imaflora believes that social and environmental certification is one of the tools that responds to part of this challenge, with a strong inducing power for local, sustainable development in the forest and agricultural sectors.

Similarly, the Institute seeks to influence the production chains of forest and agricultural products; collaborate in the elaboration and implementation of policies of public interest and, finally, in fact, make a difference in the regions in which it operates, creating models of land use and sustainable development that can be reproduced in other municipalities, regions or biomes. from the country.
