Surf Coast Shire has been recognised as one of Victoria’s fastest growing municipalities for more than a decade.

The combination of lifestyle and proximity to Melbourne has seen the permanent population grow from 20,872 in 2001 to an estimated 29,346 in 2016. This figure is expected to exceed 30,000 during 2017 and forecast to reach 43,763 by 2036.

The Great Ocean Road, Bells Beach and the Great Otway National Park feature among Surf Coast’s many tourism assets.
