About
With the adoption of Primary Health Care as a tool to achieving ‘Health for All’ at the International conference on Primary Healthcare (PHC) at Alma Ata, Nigeria has made tremendous progress in the LGA focused initiatives by introducing a process (‘Bringing PHC under one roof’) to strengthen PHC services through reducing the fragmentation of PHC service management. The Federal Ministry of Health, National Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with State Ministry of Health has effortlessly supported the development of State Agency to strengthen Primary Health Care Systems.
In order to ensure sustainability of PHC in the State, a law signed by Nasarawa State House of Assembly in 2009 established Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHDA). Its mandate covers providing leadership, promoting and supporting the implementation of quality and sustainable PHC system through advocacy, resource mobilization, partnership, capacity building and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
