It was created and is run by two experienced mental health organisers and speakers,

Jo has worked in the care sector for over 22 years. Among her many activities, she facilitates the Bradford Hearing Voices Group and has spoken at many conferences and workshops. She is a qualified mental health advocate and qualified to work with people with severe learning disabilities. She is also a long standing volunteer with MIND in Bradford.

Dr Rufus May qualified from the University of East London in 1998. He has worked as a clinical psychologist in Tower Hamlets and currently works as a clinical psychologist in an assertive outreach team in Bradford. He is actively involved in consumer recovery groups such as the Hearing Voices Network and the Bradford mental health discussion and campaign group, Evolving Minds. He often provides comments in the British media against the use of compulsory detention and the forcibly use of medications legislation. His story has received a number of awards, including a Mental Health Media Survivor and Factual Radio awards in October 2001 for Fergal Keane’s show, Taking a Stand on Radio Four and a 2008 award for the TV documentary.

Dolly Sen is one of the leading figures in the UK mental health movement and is passionate about changing perceptions around mental health. She has been celebrated for educating people about mental health and challenging stigma and misinformation in a unique, innovative and interesting way. Dolly is also a writer, director, artist, film-maker, poet, performer, raconteur, playwright, music-maker and public speaker.
