Der Sächsische Datenschutzbeauftragte / The Saxon Data Protection Supervisor

The Saxon Data Protection Supervisor is elected for six years in his office by the Parliament. He has to advise and control , ie, to ensure that they only collect on a legal basis information about people who use or pass on the public and non - public bodies in the Free State of Saxony. He performs this task independently .
The Data Protection Officer is affiliated to the parliament. He has about 20 employees ( lawyers, computer scientists , administrators ) to make this work in a variety of authorities of Saxony with approximately 250,000 employees ( state government , municipalities, chambers , universities etc. ) and companies .
The Data Protection Officer shall report every two years on its successes and failures in the public and non-public sector . He also informed the public, if it finds serious deficiencies in the processing of personal data. Special attention is paid to the Data Protection Officer in addition to the advice and information in data protection issues on the development of automated data processing in public administration and private companies.
