Verband der Chemischen Industrie - VCI (Belgium)

The Executive Committee of the Association of the Chemical Industry (VCI) specified the association's self-image at the 2016 General Assembly. The following positioning on vision, mission and values represents the link between the VCI statutes, political work and the model of sustainability, which the VCI pursues in its own actions and as an alliance partner in the industry initiative Chemie 3 .

• The chemical and pharmaceutical industry in Germany and its employees are actively involved in shaping the future.
• The industry is the engine of innovation, growth and competition and, with its ability to find solutions, contributes to a better life in terms of the concept of sustainability.
• Politics and society trust the industry as a problem solver, employer and neighbor.

mission

• We, the VCI and its state and professional associations, represent the interests of chemical and pharmaceutical companies for an attractive industrial location Germany - nationally, European and worldwide.
• It is our task to secure the "license to operate" of our members.
• Together with our members, we analyze economic, political and social developments and issues and, on this basis, propose solutions to politics and society.
• We conduct a dialogue with politics and society about the benefits of chemicals and pharmaceuticals and their increasing importance in the industrial network.
• We actively participate in social debates about the opportunities and risks of new technologies. When evaluating chemical-pharmaceutical products and processes, we are committed to a balanced benefit-risk assessment based on scientific knowledge.
• We act according to the principle of sustainability and are an alliance partner of the sustainability initiative Chemie 3 . We promote sustainability in our own work and in our industry and provide impetus for sustainable development in business, science, politics and society.
• We maintain a professional, transparent and trusting relationship with politics, the media and society. We work with the highest technical, communicative and political expertise. We constantly maintain and expand our political and social network.
• We offer needs-based services for our members and give them the opportunity to network better and exchange experiences.
